NFC Card — Common Questions

What is NTAG216 and how much data does it hold?+

NTAG216 is NXP's largest NTAG chip, with 888 bytes of freely usable memory. That is enough for a full vCard, several URLs or a serialized NDEF record. If your data is small, NTAG213 (144 bytes) or NTAG215 (504 bytes) are cheaper alternatives — same 13.56 MHz, same Type 2 protocol.

Can the card be locked or password protected?+

Yes. NTAG216 supports 32-bit password protection with an optional limit on failed attempts, plus per-page read-only lock bits and an ECC-based originality signature. We can pre-set the password and lock bits in production, or hand over the cards fully writable.

Will the card work with iPhone and Android?+

Yes. Any NFC-enabled iPhone (7 and later) or Android phone reads it without an app — the NDEF record opens directly in the browser. Reading distance is up to 100 mm, depending on the phone's antenna.

What is the MOQ, sample policy and lead time?+

MOQ is 100 pcs per design; volume tiers run from 100 to 50,000+. Stock samples are free — you cover the freight only. Production takes 7–9 days for most orders, with express delivery in 4–8 working days.

Which finishes and crafts are available?+

Glossy, matte, soft-touch, glitter, metallic and laser engraving, plus overlay film for thermal printers and special lacquer for inkjet printing. Material can be PVC, PET, wood or metal — all with the same NTAG216 inlay.
